Voice ecosystem
Pick the assistant you already use elsewhere. An Alexa house buys Echo Show; a Google house buys Nest Hub. Mixing creates daily friction.
Screen size and placement
10–11" sits on a counter. 15"+ wants a wall. Bigger is only better if you'll mount it.
Privacy hardware
A physical camera shutter and a mic-mute switch turn a maybe into a yes. Both should be hardware, not software toggles.
Streaming and recipes
